How to prepare a proposal
Practical tips for describing your project clearly and convincingly.
Start with the need Explain the problem or opportunity in plain language, and support it with facts you can verify.
Set clear goals Write 2–4 goals that are specific and measurable — for example "train 40 people in basic bookkeeping by June".
Describe your activities List what you will do, when, and who is responsible. A simple timeline helps reviewers understand feasibility.
Show who benefits Describe the people or community who benefit and roughly how many.
Explain outcomes and sustainability Say how you will measure success and what happens after the grant period ends.
Keep it honest and concise Answer each question directly. Reviewers score against the published criteria, so match your answers to them.
